Jack has nothing to do with the actual Jack Frost.
Although, he is a pretty nifty sort of guy.

I thought the red would complement him-
he's one of my newest creations in the family...
he'll belong to Guufu's plot family.

I want thinking names like Ganguro and Gangreen...Polio, Envy, Rizzio... all sorts of things-- but nothing was right.
Then i remembered Jack Frost.
I was going to make a character based off Jack Frost, and then I just thought that the name Jack suited him.
Jack Jack.
hah.

he's a mutovultus; it literally translates to Alter Form.
In otherwords he's a shapeshifter of sorts.
However, he can only transform into a few different things, and can develope the ability to transform into new ones.
He can transform into a cat, ferret, mouse, dog, hawk, and a few other animals.
parum diabolus, or 'little devil' is also another name for the species he is.
The Parums, as they call themselves, are also referred to as Imps.
The imps are only one subspecies of mutovultus, but ultimately the most popular/common.
