I wonder-- how many of you can tell which artist I've been majorly inspired by now. In the past I haven't exactly drawn the face big enough to tell, but can you tell now? you probably still can't.
Anyway, It's Markus. I lacked pictures of him.
God I hated doing this coloring though... I'm pretty sure half of the lighting still isn't right, even though I tried. well hay- you try drawing someone completely surrounded by fire (both blue and red) and tell me what the lighting looks like when you're still trying to make the person visible. LOL. :T
Anyway, I'm done fiddling with this thing. fff. U: Enjoy it.
I /am/ kind of happy with this though. I didn't use any references this time. :T So this was basically all done myself. Also, the only thing I used help for was getting my sister to hold out some knives so I could draw them for Markus' claws.
now to do a ref of the poor guy...
this picture is really funny when you imagine him yelling 'FOR NARNIAAAA' -shot- Also, I have several theories as to what he's crying about- but I'll let your imagination decide.
[also, should I or should I not allow critique on this one?]
There could be several reason why he is crying. All of them could even be associated with those crimson flames swirling around his body.
People are always biased about fire. They always think of it as a means to destroy. But fire also is a symbol for passion, strength, and justice. Yes. Flames burn, but- with the ashes- comes the chance for more things to grow. The ash nourishes the soil, and brings with it a new beginning.
The fire around him tells me something is coming to an end, but his eyes- though tear filled- are locked determinedly to something. A goal to be reached. I think he found it.
"The road is longer than we thought and no one told us how long and hard it would be, this tears are the proof of danger, the proof of pain, the proof of our last standing sacrifice. this is the end of the road and the end of our battle, i won't fight no more, but the sky will no longer be blue for me." (i won't tell you who said it, coz it's one of my own Oc's lol)
